SHIPPING YOUR TROPHY
Before you begin:
You may contact
us
for free shipping labels and identification
tags. Instructions for their use will be included. Each part
of your trophy needs to have an identification tag properly
filled out and attached.
- Antlers
- Horns
- Skulls
- Tusks
- Skin/Capes
- Any other necessary parts
The shipping labels should be attached to the outside
of each box or crate. Your Outfitter or Professional Hunter can
help you with this.
Prior to any shipments, please mail, fax, or call our office
with the following information: your full name, address, phone
number, fax number, email address, hunting license number, tag or
seal number, species, origin of specimen.
Follow these simple steps:
- Make sure you insure all your shipments.
- Address each box/container clearly with our address
or our Shipping Label.
- Be sure you include your return address on the outside
of each box/container.
- Include a packing slip inside the box with your return
address, and all other required information.
   
Follow these steps to ship your trophys into the U.S. from
another country:
- Make sure you insure all your shipments.
- Your paperwork must be in order.
- All Original Documents should be sent to us.
- You must have applied for and received all proper permits.
- You will need a Veterinarian's Certificateand Cities
Permit from the country of origin listing all endangered
species being shipped to us, and should include the scientific
name as well as the common name of the specie. Contact
your Outfitter or Professional Hunter for these
documents.
- Put one (1) complete set of paperwork inside
the box/crate, attach two (2) sets to the outside
of the box/crate, and send another set to West Michigan
Taxidermy, Inc.
- You are responsible for your paperwork and we cannot process
your order without it.
- All shipments originating outside the continental U.S. should
be sent freight collect. We will contact you upon arrival
of the shipment.
- We do not have any extra storage space so please do not ship
other items with your trophies.
We are an Approved Establishment with the USDA.
To clear any restricted animal skins/parts through U.S. Customs,
the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Department
of Agriculture, you will need to use an Approved Establishment.
For air shipments, copies of all documents should be
attached to the Air Bill, and another should be
securely attached to the crates/packages.

Dry Salted Skins
- Package the skins in a sturdy box or crate making
sure no salt can leak outside.
- Horns and antler tips should be covered with a protective
material to prevent any damage. Such things like garden hose,
folded cardboard, pipe insulation, etc. work well.
- Ship by UPS Ground or Freight Carrier to:

Frozen Skins
- Package your skins inside a plastic bag, then inside
another plastic bag. (Garbage bags work great). This will help
to keep blood and other fluids from leaking out.
- Wrap numerous layers of newspaper around this for insulation.
- Place entire contents inside a sturdy box.
- Keep frozen as long as possible.
- Ship by UPS Second Day Air or Ground to:

Raw Skins
Raw skins need to be processed as soon as is possible to avoid
hair slippage of the skin, so fast delivery is crucial.
